Council on Accreditation (COA)
Founded in 1977, the Council on Accreditation (COA) is an independent, not-for-profit organization that partners with human service organizations worldwide to improve service delivery outcomes by developing, applying, and promoting appropriate best practice standards.
Implementing COA Standards means our organization is among the best in the field. We are proud to be a part of this community of excellence.
COA reviews and evaluates our organization every four years to ensure that we continually provide quality service and meet standards.
Better Business Bureau (BBB)
Catholic Charities is a Better Business Bureau (BBB) Accredited Charity. This means our organization meets all 20 of the BBB’s Standards for Charity Accountability.
These standards were developed by representatives of small and large charitable organizations, the accounting profession, grant making foundations, corporate contributions officers, regulatory agencies, research organizations and the BBBs.
The BBB Wise Giving Alliance also commissioned significant independent research on donor expectations to ensure that the views of the general public were reflected in these regulatory standards.
