What is the Child Care Contribution Credit?

This credit seeks to increase the quality and availability of child care in metro Denver. The state of Colorado allows you to take a 50% tax credit on your state income taxes when you donate to Catholic Charities’ Foster Care and Child Care programs in 2015.

The preferred minimum donation is $300.

  • Your donation still qualifies as a charitable deduction on your Federal income tax.
  • Donation must be made as a single gift, paid in full via check, cash, credit card, direct bill or electronic funds transfer.
  • You can take advantage of the tax credits regardless of whether you itemize or not.
  • Both individuals and corporate donors can benefit from this tax credit program.
  • In-kind donations are not eligible for this credit.

 How do I donate to Catholic Charities and receive the Child Care Contribution Credit?

Make checks payable to “Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Denver.” In the memo of the check, write “Child Care Contribution Credit.”

All credit card payments sent via U.S. Mail must include:

  • Cardholder’s full name as it appears on the card.
  • Credit card number.
  • Credit card’s expiration date.
  • Cardholder’s signature.
  • Please also indicate the donation as dedicated to the “Child Care Contribution Credit”.

According to state regulations, the tax credit must be requested at the time of the donation, so please clearly indicate your desire to donate to the “Child Care Contribution Credit” during the phone call.
