On April 18, the Marisol Health Northern Colorado clinic transformed into a place of celebration, laughter and genuine generosity as the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Bible study in Fort Collins sponsored our April baby shower. From the very start, this group made it clear—they didn’t just want to give gifts. They wanted to show up, build relationships and be part of something meaningful.
That journey began weeks earlier when members of the Marisol Health team joined one of their Bible study gatherings to share information about the clinic, which opened in 2024 just a few doors down from the Planned Parenthood location across the street from the CSU campus. As we talked about how families are nominated for our baby showers and the unique stories behind each one, something clicked. What followed was an outpouring of enthusiasm. Volunteers signed up not only to donate, but to wrap gifts, cook and bring food, decorate the space, clean up afterward and, most importantly, be present on the day of the celebration.

By the evening of April 17, tables were filled with beautifully wrapped packages, each one chosen with care. The next morning, the clinic came alive—decorations in place, food arriving and a sense of joyful anticipation in the air.
When the honored couple arrived, they were welcomed into more than a baby shower—they stepped into a community that was ready to support them. Over a shared meal, laughter filled the room as guests played games and connected. Volunteers and staff shared stories of motherhood and the early days of parenting, offering both wisdom and encouragement. Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for: the opening of gifts, each one a tangible reminder that this family is supported and cared for.
The parents were visibly moved, sharing that they felt both deeply grateful and overwhelmed by the kindness surrounding them.
Mom spoke from the heart about her desire to be the best mother she can be and to provide every opportunity for her child. She expressed sincere gratitude for finding Marisol Health during this important season of life. Longtime volunteer Anne Jordan summed up what many were feeling: “I am truly touched by the generosity of our community.”
Moments like these remind us what’s possible when people come together with intention and compassion. We are honored to be part of this family’s story. As they prepare to welcome their baby, they can move forward with confidence, knowing they are not alone—they are supported by this Catholic Charities ministry, our life-affirming parishes and our dedicated community partners.
