A Mother’s Love, A Place of Hope

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate the quiet strength of mothers who show up each day with love, courage and determination—even when life feels uncertain.

At Marisol Family in Fort Collins, Estefania is one of those mothers.

Like so many parents today, she’s navigating rising costs that make even basic necessities feel out of reach. For Estefania, diapers have become one of the biggest challenges.

“Right now, diapers are so expensive,” she shares. “Being able to put a clean diaper on my baby without worrying… it means everything to me.”

But Estefania’s story is also one of hope.

Through Marisol Family—a ministry of Catholic Charities—she’s found more than just help with essentials. Marisol Family provides critical, life-affirming support to mothers, fathers and young families, including access to diapers, baby clothing and other necessities. Beyond material aid, families receive parenting education, emotional support and connections to community resources that help them build stability and confidence for the future.

Each visit offers Estefania a sense of relief and dignity—knowing she can care for her son without having to choose between basic needs.

And what keeps her coming back is something even more powerful.

From the moment she walks through the doors, she is greeted with compassion and respect. “They make me feel like family,” she says. “My son feels loved here and so do I.”

This is the heart of Catholic Charities’ Faces of Hope—walking alongside families, meeting urgent needs and reminding every parent they are seen, valued and not alone.
