Building Brighter Futures at Centro

A hidden gem just steps from the bustling Rino neighborhood in a gorgeous historic building, Catholic Charities Centro San Juan Diego offers a full schedule of affordable ESL, Computer Literacy, GED and U.S. Citizenship courses for Colorado neighbors, with sessions launching every few months. The classes are offered both in person and online to meet the diverse needs of our community.

Centro San Juan Diego was founded as a place that welcomes the Hispanic community and invites all to become faithful, integrated leaders in both the Catholic Church and society. Today, that mission is alive and thriving as classrooms fill with conversation and Zoom rooms fill with determination.

A Full Season of Learning

At Centro San Juan Diego, learning begins the moment a student decides to take a step forward.

Each term, virtual ESL classrooms filled with beginners building basic English vocabulary, while additional sessions welcome students across multiple levels, from foundational to advanced. On campus, Fridays and Saturdays bring lively, in-person instruction, where students gather for focused language practice, encouragement and community as they move steadily toward fluency.

Down the hall, computer literacy courses open new doors. Beginners sit side by side exploring the basics, gaining confidence with every click. Soon after, students advance to building presentations in PowerPoint, drafting documents in Word and mastering spreadsheets in Excel, progressing from foundational skills to more complex applications that strengthen their career opportunities.

For those pursuing a high school equivalency credential, GED preparation courses provide steady guidance and support across core subjects including Mathematics, Language Arts and Social Studies. Online classes make it possible for students to balance study with work and family responsibilities while staying on track toward their goals.

Students preparing for the naturalization process find a welcoming space in U.S. Citizenship classes offered both in person and online. With instruction available in English and Spanish, participants receive the knowledge and confidence they need to navigate the path to citizenship.

A Look Back

Centro’s educational programs continue to grow each year. In 2025 alone:

  • 705 individuals completed ESL classes
  • Nearly 500 folks completed Computer Literacy courses
  • More than 200 students completed GED preparation
  • More than 125 neighbors who want to become United States citizens completed Citizenship classes

Additionally, thanks to our partnership with Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla, a University in Mexico, eight students earned undergraduate or master’s degrees — all through accessible, affordable Spanish-language programs.

Looking Ahead

Our computer classes typically kick off every six weeks and ESL courses begin about every four months.
