TIP OF THE MONTH
In today’s world, children are growing up with far too much noise, distraction, and unfair comparison. Helping them build a healthy mind and heart isn’t just about managing emotions — it’s about forming virtue. Simply put, virtue is steady habit of choosing what is good. Authentic mental and spiritual resilience flows from virtue, because it roots a person’s sense of worth not in achievement or popularity, but in love and truth.
As Christian parents and teachers, we are given a holy duty to “train up a child in the way he should go” (Proverbs 22:6). That training begins not with lectures, but with example. Children absorb what they see in the adults around them. The most important of these examples is how we speak, how we forgive, how we pray. When we strive daily to practice patience, humility, and charity, we plant seeds in their hearts that will grow into peace and confidence.

Research Papers
Beyond Survival: The Lived Experiences of Care Professionals in a Sex Trafficking Recovery Home
One of our very own team members, Pedro Pablo from St. Raphael Counseling, recently co-authored an important research paper exploring the lived experiences of care professionals who support survivors of sex trafficking. His work, completed in partnership with Colorado Christian University, shines a light on the emotional realities, challenges and sources of strength for those serving in recovery home settings. Through interviews with 10 care professionals, the study identifies four major themes: the evolution of burnout and vicarious trauma, navigating cultural differences, the coping strategies staff rely on and the meaning and hope they draw from their work.
