The red carpet at Crowne at Old Town North did not lead to a movie premiere. It led to the pool—and an opportunity for neighbors to support neighbors.
Nearly 150 residents and guests attended the apartment community’s annual pool party over the weekend. This year, Community Director Nikki and Leasing Consultant Soha transformed the red-carpet-themed celebration into Crowne’s first fundraiser benefiting a local nonprofit.
They selected Catholic Charities, with donations supporting Samaritan House Fort Collins, just around the corner from Crowne.
Samaritan House Fort Collins offers emergency shelter to women and families, as well as extended-stay shelter and supportive services for men, women, families and veterans working toward greater stability.
Nikki and Soha promoted the fundraiser among residents and gathered prizes with help from local community partners. Residents received a complimentary drawing ticket and could make a donation for additional chances to win. In just two hours, residents, guests and a Crowne staff member contributed $620.
Catholic Charities representatives also attended the party, sharing information about the organization’s work. Several residents expressed interest in touring Samaritan House Fort Collins or volunteering—extending the event’s impact beyond the money raised.
The pool party marked the beginning of a new relationship between Catholic Charities and Crowne at Old Town North. The two organizations are already exploring future opportunities, including a winter coat drive or Christmas gift program.
Catholic Charities is grateful to Nikki, Soha, the Crowne team, participating community partners and everyone who contributed. Together, they showed how a business can use an existing tradition and a little creativity to make a meaningful difference.
