Flowers delivered to women’s shelters for Valentine’s Day

28 Days of Love initiative provides cards, flowers for single women and women with children struggling with homelessness throughout February
Three local flower shops are donating red, pink and white carnations for Valentine’s Day and this month for single women and children who are struggling with homelessness.
Women staying at Samaritan House Women’s Shelter and Marisol Homes received flowers as a part of 28 Days of Love, an initiative to show support to women and children at the shelters. Donations to 28 Days of Love will support their efforts out of homelessness. During this month, personalized cards and flowers will be sent to give hope.
Our community has joined this effort. We thank Bonnie Brae Flowers, Diamond Florist and Poppy and Pine Floral Co. for donating more than 800 carnations.
“A lot of the women come in with just the clothes on their backs,” said Michelle, an associate at Samaritan House Women’s Shelter. “It’s amazing the change that it can make in their day and their walk and their struggle with homelessness.”

More donations are needed to support the women’s shelters!
By making a donation online at ccdenver.org/28DaysofLove, you can help women out of homelessness. Cards and flowers will be delivered after your donation.
Thank you to the flowers shops who donated carnations!
