The following is a testimony about a client of Marisol Health Northern Colorado:
“I want to begin by expressing how deeply thankful I am to Anne Ryals, Alyssa Starkson, Lisa Gesterling, Christina Starkson, Gracie Trujillo, Dr. Kevin Tool, the nurses, the ultrasound technicians, and the kind women at the front desk at Marisol Health. I am so grateful to live in a community that offers such wonderful resources.
I first heard about Marisol Health through my work, and they completely exceeded my expectations. I knew they supported women through pregnancy and postpartum, but I didn’t realize they would be there for my family, emotionally, socially, and even spiritually. They truly stand by their mission. From the first appointment confirming my pregnancy to the support I received for my maternity leave—and the continued connection I have with the team today—Marisol has been there through it all.
My previous pregnancies were heartbreaking, to say the least. Everyone I spoke with at Marisol was understanding and thoughtful regarding my mixed feelings of grief, fear, and excitement. I didn’t just feel supported medically; I felt like I had a second family. My questions were always answered, regardless of how many times I asked or how much my situation changed through life’s unexpected hardships. The patience and care I received was remarkable.
When I went to the hospital on the weekend of November 14th and learned of my infection and placental abruption, I was shocked and terrified. I was only 31 weeks along and not expecting to be in labor so soon. My midwife, Anne, came to see me and prayed with me. She held my hand and reassured me that everything would be okay. Throughout that weekend, Anne Ryals and Dr. Tool remained focused on the best interests of both me and my son, Jade.
When it came time to push, I was astonished by the support in the room. Alongside my family and the wonderful Poudre Valley team were Dr. Tool, Anne Ryals, and Alyssa Starkson—all there to hold my hand and provide moral support. The birth of my son will always be a grand memory of empowerment, perseverance, and joy. Thank you, Marisol, for making that happen and for continuing to reach out after Jade’s birth. I look forward to visiting soon with my son, who is now almost three months old and thriving!”
