Impact Report from Darren Walsh
Impact Report from Darren Walsh

Thank you for making an impact in the lives of so many!

YOU Are Amazing!

All across northern Colorado, lives are changing because of your generosity. Every day, I see the impact in the smiling faces of those who have found hope and healing through Catholic Charities.

We’ve all heard the expression, “It takes a village to raise a child.” This phrase has a special meaning for Jennifer.

Jennifer was running from a bad relationship when she reached out to Catholic Charities. Leaving a stressful situation, she arrived at Catholic Charities holding tightly to her one-year-old son, and pregnant with another child.

She had no place to go, but thanks to your gifts, she and her little boy were provided a room at Samaritan House shelter’s family floor—during which time she gave birth to her second son.

I’m happy to tell you that in the crucial months that followed the birth, Jennifer’s newborn was given everything he needed thanks to Samaritan House and Catholic Charities’ Early Childhood Education prenatal program (which your gifts also helped provide!)

It’s all thanks to you that Jennifer and her little ones are now doing really well … life for this beautiful family has changed for the better!

Thank you for giving Jennifer and her sons a brighter future!

You gave Jennifer the confidence to find a humble yet lovely apartment and she is now actively involved in the Early Head Start program. This program is helping her older son prepare to be successful in school.

When I think of how desperate, afraid, and alone Jennifer was that night she first knocked on our door, I can hardly believe the change. It’s quite simply an answer to a mother’s prayer … and I’m thankful you were a part of it!

As you can probably tell, I am very grateful for what you’ve done for Jennifer, and others like her. But don’t just take my word for it. This is the message that Jennifer sends to YOU:

“They say it takes a village and sometimes it takes a couple of villages when you have more than one (child),” she said with a joyful smile. “Catholic Charities has helped us become a closer family and provided independence not only to myself but for my children as well.”
Because of you, Jennifer and her precious boys have a future they can look forward to … and not be running from it.

I am so grateful that those we serve at Catholic Charities have generous, compassionate friends like you who care about them. I pray that with your ongoing support we can continue to serve everyone who turns to us for help and hope.

May the Lord bless you and keep you,

Darren Walsh, CEO & President, Catholic Charities of Denver
