The day before Mother’s Day, the community can join together in prayer to honor Mary and offer a rosary for the sanctity of all human life.
Prayer in the Square, a lay movement of public prayer offered as a witness to the world, continues 10 a.m. May 7 at locations along the Front Range. Hundreds of faithful have participated to declare that God cannot and will not be removed from public life. This May, the month of Mary, is also an opportunity to honor mothers and pray for the protection of the unborn.
Larry Smith, CEO of Catholic Charities in the Archdiocese of Denver, invites everyone to prayer together during the month of May.
“The world can seem such a mess that we may wonder what we can do,” Smith write in a column published in the Denver Catholic. “We need to pray. We need to pray as individuals and as a Catholic community, for the conversion of hearts and the salvation of souls. There are many opportunities to pray and I’d like to invite you to the upcoming Prayer in the Square gathering every first Saturday.”
