Marisol Family volunteer sees herself in the ministry

Marta Lewis has been a family service volunteer for Marisol Family at two locations for more than a year.

When she retired she was looking for a way to give back that helped women and children. Marta has three children. Even though they are grown with kids of their own she remembers the struggles that young mothers face.

“When I was a young mother, we didn’t have much money. If someone had a program like this when I was 18, it would have been a godsend.”
Marta enjoys volunteering at Marisol Family because she can tell it makes a positive impact in the lives of the clients she serves. She says during the year she has been at Marisol Family she has gotten to know some of the families and has enjoyed watching their babies grow.
“We have a little gal at All Saints. She just tiny tiny little girl, she has been in a size three for ever and ever and about two weeks ago her dad asked for size 4.”

Marta describes Marisol Family as a place where all people can come and find love and respect.

“That is what this place is all about, respect and love for everyone.”
