Archbishop Samuel Aquila also among attendees at today's event for Marisol Services
Denver, CO—Jan. 28, 2017—Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock will attend today's Beacon of Hope Gala at the Wings Over the Rockies Museum to benefit women in need across the Front Range region.
Archbishop Samuel J. Aquila of the Archdiocese of Denver will also attend the annual gala that draws civic leaders, religious leaders and donors in support Catholic Charities of Denver's unique continuum of care model, which provides women with healthcare, human services and housing. Since last year's gala, Catholic Charities launched Marisol Health, a network of medical clinics where women find a supportive and caring staff that provides for their needs throughout a pregnancy and beyond. WHAT: The annual Beacon of Hope Gala to support Marisol Services, which includes healthcare, human services and housing to women in need.
EVENT: Mayor Michael Hancock will attend along with Archbishop Samuel Aquila of the Archdiocese of Denver and Catholic Charities President and CEO Larry Smith. The event includes the gala's marketplace, dinner, music, live auction and video stories.
WHEN: The event begins with Mass celebrated by Archbishop Aquila at 4 p.m. on Jan. 28 at Bishop Machebeuf High School, 458 Uinta Way in Denver. After Mass, attendees will gather beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum, 7711 E. Academy Blvd. in Denver. From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., guests will enjoy a program and dinner. Young adults will also attend the Young Professional Lounge, furnished by American Furniture Warehouse.
