Move-in Challenge

The former Father Ed Judy House has a new name and a new location. We are now part of Catholic Charities’ Marisol Homes. We are moving to a new location this month that allows us to serve more single expectant mothers and single women, with children, who are experiencing homelessness. Building construction is complete but we still need beds and furnishings for 16 rooms before the home is “move-in ready”. If we band together to adopt rooms we can make this move happen.

PLEASE DONATE TODAY.

Carmen's Story

Marisol Homes serves as a life transforming shelter for homeless women with children—offering support and compassion to mothers long after they’ve moved on.

Like Carmen, 38, who found a fresh start in life after walking through the doors of the shelter. A counselor helped Carmen, who had fled an abusive relationship, was hooked on meth and needed a job.

She came to Denver from Brooklyn to rebuild her life and found a new home at Marisol Homes (formerly Fr. Ed Judy House).  “I was into drugs pretty bad,” she said. “And my daughter needed a new life.”

At Marisol Homes, Carmen formed relationships with other single mothers and staff helped her realize her God-given dignity and worth.

Today, Carmen is an advisor at her daughter’s school, regularly attends parent meetings and is an active member of a local community church. Carmen said she is a new person because of Marisol Homes, which offers continued support through its alumni program.

“It’s crazy—good things are happening (in my life) now,” she said. “Without God, none of this would be possible.”
