St. Teresa Prayer Society
Our Monthly Intentions

“Prayer will give us a clean heart,
and a clean heart will allow us
to see God in each other.”
– St. Teresa of Calcutta

Why Saint Teresa of Calcutta?

Mother Teresa of Calcutta, now St. Teresa of Calcutta, provides a perfect example for how we must pursue our own mission here at Catholic Charities. She constantly insisted that “everything begins with prayer.” Ultimately, it was her prayer that strengthened her to love like God and to serve like Christ as she tirelessly served the poorest of the poor. She is the perfect model for us!

What do members do?

Members are asked to pray for Catholic Charities and those we serve on a daily basis. New members will receive a prayer card to guide them in their daily prayer, along with a St. Teresa necklace medallion, which will serve as a reminder of their commitment to the society.

General intentions will be emailed to Society members once each month, and specific intentions will be emailed as necessary throughout the year. Catholic Charities will accept members’ prayer intentions and offer them during our weekly Mass in our chapel. They will remain near the tabernacle for several days after having been presented.

June: Always Learning - Early Childhood Education

Summer is here and no matter the time lost because of the pandemic some schools are out for break others are still in session. But the physical needs of children before they can grow and learn never stop. St. Teresa of Calcutta once said, “It is very compelling that before Jesus explained God’s words, before he explained the beatitudes to the crowd, he felt compassion for them and fed them. Only after they were fed did he start to teach them.”

During the pandemic Catholic Charities Denver continued to serve over 400 children in 6 Early Childhood Education facilities in a safe and caring way. Along with giving children the personalized education they need to succeed, Catholic Charities ECE programs also provided nourishing meals and access to dental, vision, and medical exams. Family and community services supported and nurtured families and their children through adapted programs and digital educational events.

St. Teresa of Calcutta,

Knowing the compassionate understanding of Jesus, you were aware that a hungry mind cannot be fed before a hungry body. During the hot weeks of summer, replenish the lives of the children and families served by the teachers, staff, and volunteers of Catholic Charities Early Childhood Education. Help them to look forward to a new school year. Pray for those who are still in session.

We ask this in the name of Jesus our Teacher. Amen.
