Who We Are
Samaritan House Women’s Emergency & Transitional Shelter provides services for women who need immediate shelter. We allow any woman that is seeking shelter to have a safe place to sleep 365 days of the year. Currently, there are multiple locations with 24/7 services offered to meet the needs of those seeking shelter while providing a socially distanced and safe environment. With the COVID-19 guidelines, Catholic Charities shelters approximately 82 women in the transitional shelter at the Northeast Denver location. A hotel provided by the City and County of Denver is jointly managed by Catholic Charities and community partners. It provides haven to 94 women. Both locations have security that monitors the property and makes sure the women are safe for the duration of their stay.
Our staff offers compassionate and dignified care to connect women in need to other supportive and transformational services that help them have a fresh start and regain their own self-sufficiency.
In conjunction with our women’s emergency shelter, Samaritan House women’s transitional shelter provides women more access to case management, recovery resources, life skill classes, mental health services, and most importantly, a safe place to reside. Participants have their own personal lockers, beds, computer access, laundry facilities and can take showers.
