Sheffield Homes Volunteers Lend Their Skills at Marisol Health

Sometimes, the greatest gift a community partner can offer is a willingness to roll up their sleeves and serve.

That spirit was on full display as team members from Sheffield Homes spent a day volunteering at Catholic Charities Marisol Health, tackling improvement projects that help keep the property safe, welcoming and beautiful for the women and families who visit each day.

Throughout the day, volunteers worked on a variety of hands-on projects, including replacing balusters, staining wood, pulling weeds and completing other maintenance tasks around the property.

“We’re here today to help this great charity and to be able to give back to the community,” said Jason Gordon, president of Sheffield Homes.

The volunteer day was part of Sheffield Homes’ Five-Star Summer initiative, which encourages employees to spend time serving organizations throughout the community. For Jason, the opportunity reflects the company’s commitment to making a difference beyond the homes they build.

“We’re having this great Five-Star summer and this is part of that event that we’re doing,” Jason said. “We’re trying to just give back to the community. One of the big things that we do is what we call Beyond the Build. We’re home builders and so there are these type of projects that go beyond what we do in the home building industry to help the community out.”

While Sheffield Homes is known for building custom homes throughout the Denver metro area and recently expanding into Winter Park, the company also believes in building stronger communities through service. In addition to its custom home division, Sheffield Homes operates Sheffield Homes Finish Basements and More, providing remodeling services for homeowners across the region.

For Jason, the volunteer day was also an opportunity to bring employees together around a shared purpose.

“We have great employees that want to give back and this gives them a chance to be able to come and do these projects in their busy lives,” he said.

The improvements completed during the day will help ensure Marisol Health continues to provide a welcoming environment where women and families can receive compassionate medical care, counseling and support.

Catholic Charities is grateful to Jason and the entire Sheffield Homes team for generously sharing their time, talents and servant hearts. Their willingness to serve helps create spaces where every woman and family who walks through Marisol Health’s doors can feel welcomed, cared for and supported.
