Today, Tara is a soon-to-be college graduate with five beautiful children and is considered by many to be the ‘epitome of success.’ Twelve years ago, she was struggling with sobriety and looking for a new beginning. She found one at Marisol Homes, a place that set her – and her family - up for success. Now, she mentors others.
A stranger saw how frightened Lauree appeared and offered to take her to Samaritan House in downtown Denver. This is where her journey with Catholic Charities began. After arriving at Samaritan House’s emergency shelter for women, she was given a warm bed for the night and hot, nutritious meals. Today, she manages a coffee shop on the same street.
