Riders gear up to raise $1 million for homeless shelters
Team Samaritan House gained more pedal power this year.
The charitable cycling team, which started with six riders in the 2011 Ride The Rockies tour, announced its expectation for 100 riders to join the team for the 2018 Ride The Rockies tour this summer in Colorado.
“Our partnership with Ride The Rockies through The Denver Post Community Foundation has been a blessing to each rider and our ability to fundraise over $500,000 for Samaritan House,” said Tom Schwein, captain of Team Samaritan House. “By extending our reach to other cycling events, we can welcome more riders who want to support the homeless shelters by training for one of the rides while enjoying the camaraderie of the team.”
Team Samaritan House — the largest single team in The Denver Post Ride The Rockies — is gearing up to raise an additional $500,000 to top $1 million in donations by 2019 for Catholic Charities’ homeless shelters in northern Colorado.
